Beyoncé Knowles is one of the most famous and well-known Houston celebrities born in Houston!  Beyoncé pursued her singing career as a child, entering countless singing competitions (and winning). In addition, she attended St. Mary’s Montessori School, where her dance instructor first recognized her talent.

She later attended Parker Elementary School and then the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and Alief Elsik High School. Beyonce still speaks fondly of Houston, and according to her interview with the website Visit Houston Texas, Houston is “a great place to raise a family” and will always be home to her.

Jimmy Butler, an NBA shooting guard and small forward, had his break with Chicago Bulls during the 2014-2015 season. During this period, he earned the NBA’s Most Improved Player award and was included in the NBA All-Star teams for four consecutive years. 

In addition, Butler got a gold medal in Rio de Janeiro at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
